    Bat Changes for 2018

Babe Ruth League has implemented new bat rules for the 2018 season that will affect all divisions of post season tournament play. These changes will go into effect for our local league in the 2018 season

Below is a breakdown of the changes.  Please be aware of these when purchasing bats for this upcoming season as they may only be good for 1 year.

    • Important to note…the bat rules have not changed for the 2017 season for any level of play.
    • The following changes go into effect in 2018:
      • Cal Ripken Division has approved the use of bats that have a barrel of 2 5/8” in diameter.  Previously it was 2 ¼”.
      • All bats for all divisions that are not BBCOR .50 MUST HAVE a USABat logo stamped on them.  Sales of these bats will begin in the fall of 2017.  ALL bats without this will not be allowed in 2018 with the exception of BBCOR.
