The following items outline some of the more pertinent changes that are affecting West Fargo Baseball at various levels. It has been a very busy off season to say the least, but we want to take this opportunity to communicate some of the upcoming changes.
We are excited to announce that West Fargo Baseball is entering into its first charter with Little League Baseball. This change will bring with it new opportunities for various levels of play. We will continue to also have a Cal Ripken presence at most age levels. More information regarding the changes surrounding this can be found in the document below. Of course we will also be discussing these in more depth at the annual parent meeting in April.
These changes will not affect how we conduct registration for the summer of 2018. Registration for all League and Travel players will be opening the first or second week in December and will continue to be open through February 14.
We would like to take this opportunity to announce an upcoming age change for the summer of 2019. This will NOT affect the Level Of Play for 2018!
Beginning in the summer of 2019 WF Baseball will begin to use the new Little League age chart for all 12 and under players. The cut off date for players 12 and under in 2018 is May 1. The new cut off date for players 12 and under in 2019 will be September 1. This change will affect players who have a May, June, July or August birthday only.
Babe Ruth ages (13-15) will continue to use May 1 as their cut off date into the foreseeable future.
More discussion surrounding this age change will take place at the Parent Meeting in April.
Babe Ruth League has implemented new bat rules for the 2018 season that will affect all divisions of post season tournament play. These changes will go into effect for our local league in the 2018 season.
