2024 WF Baseball - Red River Valley League Program

Welcome to the 2024 West Fargo Youth Baseball Registration. This registration is for being placed on a team in the Red River Valley League and you will select if you wanted to play in a more Recreational team or a Competitive Team.

Please read and review all information provided below before registering your son/daughter:

Objectives of West Fargo Baseball

The purpose of this organization is to provide competitive baseball through the development and operation of a baseball program for 5 to 15 year old youth residing in West Fargo School District No. 6.
The mission of West Fargo Baseball is to organize, structure and maintain the highest quality baseball program possible. We seek to develop a fun and safe environment that affords each participant the opportunity to learn and play the game of baseball. In addition, we strive to develop fundamental baseball skills while instilling the core values of teamwork, sportsmanship, competition and citizenship into each of our participants.

Registration:

Registration Open Date: November 1st, 2023.
Registration Deadline: March 1st, 2024
If you're trying out for a travel team, you will register on a different travel team page located here.
During the registration process coaches can submit teams until March 31st. Please make sure that each player has agreed to be on your team and within the skill level you choose.
During the registration process, you will have the ability to request a certain coach or player(s) to participate with for the RRVL. This is not guaranteed but we do our best to accommodate these requests. If you would like to make a request, please confirm with the other player(s) or coach to register for the same division (Competitive/Recreational).
Registration will be on a first-come basis whether or not you have played in previous years. All players registered by the March 1st deadline are guaranteed placement on a team. Anyone registering AFTER March 1st will be placed on a waiting list.
A payment plan option is available when you check out. The payment plan will have payments automatically taken out on 1/10, 2/10, 3/10 and 4/10, so if you register before those dates, you can select the payment plan and the payments will automatically be taken out on those dates. If you register after these dates, the payment plan will taken out according to the date you register and may NOT be eligible for the payment plan option.
NO REFUNDS WILL BE ISSUED AFTER TEAMS ARE CREATED ON MARCH 31st. No refunds of registration fees will be made unless the family moves away from the area or the player is medically incapable of playing. Under no circumstances will a refund be granted after team placements have taken place.

Age:

For the RRVL league, we are accepting both Cal Ripken & Little League age charts. The player may choose which age group they want to compete in. For example, if Sam was born in August of 2013, the Little League age chart has him as an 11-year-old for the 2024 season; the Cal Ripken age chart has him as a 10-year-old. So, Sam would have the option of playing in either the 10 or 11-year-old division.
If a player would like to sign up for travel baseball, the player must sign up under the Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth Age Chart.
West Fargo Baseball allows players to play a level 1 year older than their age based on the Little League Age Chart from ages 5-7 (example: in the last year this is allowed, a 7YO could play at the 8YO level). After age 8, the organizations with whom we're affiliated are more strict in their age rules so players will be required to play at the level determined by the age charts. Please understand, this means if they played up in the past, they will be required to play the 8YO level 2 years in a row to become compliant again.
For anyone interested in being eligible for the 12-year-old Little League all-star process, the player must sign up under the age listed on the Little League age chart.

Important Registration Notes

All players must register during normal signup. If a player is selected for a travel team, the player will not be placed on a league team.
You will select if you would like to play more in a competitive league or a recreational league. More information can be reviewed above or at the link located here.
We CANNOT GUARANTEE that you will be placed on the level you selected. It will be based on numbers in each age group and number of teams. We will do our best to place your child in the appropriate division.
If you are going to be trying out for travel or thinking of trying out for travel, please use the link here for registration. Please use this link even if you are thinking about trying out. If your child does not make a travel team, they will be placed on a league team.
During registration process, you will have the ability to request a certain coach or player(s) to participate with. This is NOT guaranteed but we do our best to accommodate these requests.
Registration must be completed through our secure site, using your Visa Card, Master Card, Discover Card or checking account information.
In order for the registration system to recognize that your family is registering multiple players, please register all of your players in 1 registration session. Failure to do so will result in a forfeiture of your family's discounted rates.
There will be a max registration cost of $600 if registering multiple players of the same family. If you decide to register all players individually, we cannot honor the max fee.
If there is any financial hardship and you cannot afford the registration fee, please reach out to us.

Fundraising

There will be no fundraising for the 2024 season.

Game Nights

No regularly schedule games will be played on Friday nights for any ages. Game nights per age group are to be determined.

The baseball season will begin in early May and end in late July.

No scheduled games on Memorial Day or July 3-7.

5/6U: Monday/Wednesday

7U: Monday/Wednesday

8U: Tuesday/Thursday

9U & 10U: Monday/Wednesday

11U & 12U: Tuesday/Thursday

13U: Monday and/or Wednesday

14/15U: Monday through Thursday. (Schedule will be released in April based off of field availability)

Practice Nights

Practice schedules will be determined after teams are formed with practices typically held 1 to 2 times during the week. These practice dates/times are set each week and won't change unless done by the coach. West Fargo Baseball assigns days & times for field and batting practice availability, but each team's actual practice session is determined by coaches. Weekend practices are at coaches' discretion.

Coaches/Team Managers

We are always in need of volunteer coaches for all age groups. If you are interested, please select the co-coach option in the registration, no experience necessary.

All coaches will have the opportunity to create their own teams by submitting a list of players. Coaches must have parent agreement with the player's parent to put on their roster. All other players will be placed on teams with consideration to requests, school affiliation and address.

RRVL (Competitive option):

Will be placed on a team with others that selected this option if registered by March 1st
Skill level: Advanced
Higher level of commitment
Will play other teams that selected the competitive option 18-20 games scheduled

12 & Under will play 1 game twice per week. 13-15-year-olds will play 2 games (doubleheader) 1 time per week.

Skill level: Beginner to Intermediate
Will play other teams that selected the recreational option
18-20 games scheduled
Season start/end: April-July
12 & Under will play 1 game twice per week. 13-15-year-olds will play 2 games (doubleheader) 1 time per week
