West Fargo Baseball offers travel ball teams for ages 9-14U. It is designed to give players an additional competitive baseball opportunity playing some of the top competition in the area, state, and region. These travel teams will be given the opportunity to travel to various tournaments throughout the area in the summer as well the opportunity to compete in the North Dakota State tournament and beyond.
Kids interested in travel baseball will be given an opportunity to attend winter workouts starting in January each year on Sundays at various times based on age groups. This is an opportunity to work on your skills and get ready for travel tryouts which happen in mid March.
The cost of travel baseball can vary depending on the team's schedule and tournaments that the team is registered for. There is typically a fee above and beyond the WF Baseball registration fee for all age groups.
Below is some more information on the travel teams:
- Must register and go through the travel try out process in order to make a team
- 2 teams are selected each age group if player registration numbers allow
- High Commitment Level
- Can expect to play in 3-6 tournaments, including State Tournament (tournaments vary each age group)
- Will play 35-45 games, including weekends
- Season start/end: April - July
- 9&10 YO: 60' bases, 46' mound; no leading off, can steal once ball crosses the plate
- 11&12 YO: 70' bases, 50' mound; leading off is allowed
- 13 YO: Will begin the season playing 54/80 and transition to 60/90 after June 1st
- 14: 90' bases, 60'6" mound
- 11&12 YO travel players are NOT eligible for Little League All-Stars if selected to a travel team
