SCHEELS Awarded Naming Rights to North Elmwood Park Field

West Fargo, ND, December 9, 2021 – The West Fargo Park District, West Fargo Baseball, and SCHEELS have entered a partnership for the new North Elmwood Park in West Fargo. With a donation of $75,000, SCHEELS will acquire the naming rights to the farthest North baseball field. SCHEELS Field will include state of the art turfed infield, two large dugouts, bleacher style seating, and a SCHEELS wrapped outfield. The Essentia Health Field will be adjacent to the south. “West Fargo Baseball is excited and honored to partner with SCHEELS on a remodeling project for our North Elmwood baseball complex. SCHEELS’ financial support goes a long ways towards constructing a premier baseball complex for the youth of West Fargo. One of the new baseball fields will be named SCHEELS Field,” said Ben Potter, President of the West Fargo Baseball Association. West Fargo Baseball encompasses over 1,100 children, ages 5 to 19 years old from West Fargo and surrounding communities. The North Elmwood Park project, located off 13th Ave South, will begin demolition in February 2022, with renovations and construction scheduled for summer of 2022. “The sponsorship and support from SCHEELS for the North Elmwood field improvements is tremendous and greatly appreciated. We are pleased the project will be moving forward in 2022, largely because of collaborative efforts with the WF Baseball Club who have worked hard to build support for the project,” said Barb Erbstoesser, Executive Director of West Fargo Park District. The updated park plans include two top of the line baseball diamonds, batting cages, increased parking, restrooms, and multiple shelters that will be offered to the public and available for rentals. “West Fargo has certainly been fun to watch grow! We are thrilled for the opportunity to support West Fargo Baseball and see the North Elmwood Project come to fruition. SCHEELS Field will be a great addition to the community and our whole team is excited to watch the first game in 2023.” noted Caryn Olson, Marketing Leader for the Fargo Flagship SCHEELS store.
