Travel Team Tryouts set - Sunday, March 17, 2024
For those players wanting to try out for travel baseball for the 2024 season for ages 9-14, there will be a travel team tryout at the Rustad Rec Center on Sunday, March 17, 2024. There will be more information coming out as we get closer to that date. More information on the travel tryout date is listed HERE.
Anyone interested in Travel Baseball should register for the 2024 Winter Workouts. The dates are listed here. Registration is also open on that page.
Registration Information
Information about age requirements is listed here.
In 2024, we will have 2 different programs to choose from in your registration: Red River Valley League Recreational/Competitive OR Travel Program.
We have broken the registration into two separate programs for both the Red River Valley League as well as Travel tryout programs (9u-15u). There is system functionality that we will benefit from in doing this - such as easier to manage the Red River Valley League scheduling process with Fargo without the West Fargo Travel teams included in the league. With that - there have been some questions on “Do you need to register for both Travel and Red River Valley Program”.
Please only register for the Red River Valley League (Competitive or Recreation) OR the 9u - 15u Division level Travel Tryout Process.
There have also been some questions on the cost differences between the Travel Program and the Red River Valley League that we wanted to clarify. By the beginning of the season the cost for each age division will be the same. By utilizing the system in the manner, we are for the Travel Program, we are unable currently to accept payment plans for the travel program in the same way we can accommodate for the Red River Valley League registration. To try to stay consistent across programs in breaking up the cost across multiple months, we have implemented a “Tryout Fee” which you will notice is ½ of the division cost for the age group you are registering for. If the athlete attends the tryouts and makes a travel team - at that point the later ½ of the fees would be collected (as well as any additional fees required by the travel team). Likewise - if the athlete attends the tryouts and does not end up being selected for the travel team, at that point West Fargo Baseball will add the player to a competitive Red River Valley League team at the same age group they attended tryouts.
Examples:
1. My athlete would like to play for a Red River Valley League Team
Choose Recreational or Competitive Red River Valley League registration for the age group your player fits into.
Upon Checkout - Choose to “Pay in Full” OR select a desired payment plan to pay the monthly fees across multiple months.
2. My athlete would like to try out for a West Fargo Baseball Travel Team
Choose Travel Team registration and select the age group you player fits into.
Upon Checkout - you will be required to pay ½ of the fee for the age group division.
After Travel Tryout
If your athlete was selected for a travel team you will receive notification, at that point you will pay the 2nd ½ of the fee for the age group division. (There will be additional fees to play travel collected directly by the travel teams).
If your athlete was not selected for a travel team, they will be placed on a competitive league team at that age level and will have to pay the 2nd ½ of the fees for the league at that point.

Team Assignments & Volunteer Coaches
We are always in need of volunteer coaches, so please consider coaching your child's team. There is information about drills, etc. in our Coaches Cabinet on our website.
Coaches are allowed to form their own team if the player's parent/guardian agrees to play for them. You need to make sure that the player is committed to your team and recreation/competitive level. If submitting a roster, the deadline is March 31st, 2024. Coaches can submit rosters as soon as registration begins. They will receive additional information in a separate email as the season gets closer.
After registration closes on March 1st and travel teams are picked at the end of the week on 3/22/2024, we will put together the remaining RRVL league team rosters. After rosters are finalized, you will be notified via email by your coach. The team/league schedule will be put together shortly after rosters are completed. After the league schedule is formed, we will then notify you of your practice schedule.
During the registration process, you will have the ability to request a certain coach or player(s) to participate with for the RRVL. Please make sure that the coach/player you request is not on a pre-formed team and is within the same level. (Rec/Competitive) We try to accommodate all requests to the best of our ability. After we search through each request we then try to place athletes with other athletes who go to the same school or neighboring schools.
